Shopping Lists Explained
Karri use the concept of shopping lists instead of the typical shopping cart system as it is quicker for the app user as well as simpler to setup and administrate.
Shopping List Collections are like any other collection except that instead of presenting a single item, you get a list of items to choose from.
As Shopping Lists are independently configured to collections you can set up multiple collections (even at the same time) that use the same Shopping List. For example, you can set up next week’s collection while this week’s collection is in progress.
Obviously only if the shopping list doesn’t change from week to week, otherwise you need to clone the shopping list and adjust it for the new collection.
As they are independent, you need to set up the shopping list BEFORE you create the Shopping List Collection.
Shopping Lists are lists of items you want to offer. You can order them as needed and put them into sections to make the purchase experience as good as possible for your users.
As with collections, you can have multiple shopping lists referring to the same shopping items. We don’t have a stock control system. So items are just reusable units.
In a future version of Karri, we will include the ability to limit the number of items on offer, but this will be managed at the collection level as this simplifies control at the collection order overview screen.
Shopping Items are the things you want to offer, they can have a title, a description, a price, minimum order quantity, maximum order quantity and an optional image so people can see what it is on offer.
Minimum and maximum shopping items are the limits imposed per member invited to the collection, not to the item over the whole collection. e.g maximum of 1, means a user can only purchase a maximum of 1.
