Shopping Item Categories
This article will show you how to create meaningful categories to organise your shopping lists:
Here are some examples of Item Categories:
Books: textbooks, setwork books, workbooks or study guides.
Clothing: school ties, caps, tracksuits.
Food: fresh foods such as pizzas and hamburgers, fruit, yogurt or crisps, cooldrinks and bottled water.
Concert tickets: Adult tickets R50 and Children’s tickets R20.
List Categories
This is the default landing page for listing and managing Item Categories.

is a shortcut to switch back to the Shop Overview
Adding an Item Category
Click
[+ New Category]
.Give your category a name and a description. Click
[Submit]
.
You can’t create Shopping Items without first creating Item Categories.
Editing Categories
Click on the category you want to edit.
Click
[📝 Edit]
to edit the category
Removing Categories
Click on the category you want to delete.
Click
[✖ Delete]
to remove the category.Confirm the deletion.
You can’t delete categories that are in use. First delete those items or change their category.
Requires canViewItems and canEditItems permissions.
