Advanced Collection Options
Just when you thought it was going to be easy we added some extra settings to make things interesting. As with all things Karri, these are actually very easy to understand and easy to use.
Is this a donation style collection?
If you are collecting funds for a fundraiser or for a charitable cause, you can use our handy option and:
Change the wording from
Please pay
toPlease donate
.Change the buttons from
Pay Now
toDonate
.Update the invites and reminders accordingly.
Allow multiple payments per Member?
By default, collections in Karri allow one payment and then mark the collection as paid for that member. For example, paying for club dues is something you only do once, but for tickets you may want to allow the user change their mind after buying one set of tickets and allow them to buy more. Set this option to allow the user to come back and Buy More
or Donate More
.
For the user, once they have made their initial purchase, the button will change to Buy More
and the collection can no longer be dismissed.
Allow partial payments
Allowing partial payments gives users the ability to pay in installments that suit their budget. A collection with this option set will show the total amount and how much has been paid and a progress indicator.
Restrictions:
Collections have to be for amounts greater than
ZAR 250 | AUD 250.User’s minimum payment is ZAR 50 | AUD 10.

Is payment compulsory?
A compulsory collection means that the user will no longer be able to dismiss the collection until it is paid (or the extension date has passed). This allows organizations that typically have one or tardy payers to still be able to use the karri app to make their payment, utilizing the built-in reminder notifications to gentle nudge the users.
When you use the option, you specify the date to extend the collection to.
Refer to Collections Explained for the diagram that explains the end-to-end timeline.
For most users that pay on time, the collection will end as per normal and the only difference is the Compulsor
indicator on the collection and the fact they can’t dismiss the collection.
For users that have not paid the collection by the collection date, the collection does not disappear, instead the collection will be highlighted as OVERDUE.
They’ll get reminders the day after the collection “closed” and again on the extension date.

Require permissions/terms/agreement?
Using this allows you to attach an agreement to the collection that needs to be accepted prior to payment. An agreement in Karri is a collective term that includes: Agreements, Indemnity forms, Permission Slips, Waivers, Terms, Disclaimers, Licenses.
For more details on setting up agreements refer to Agreements.
Disable invites and reminders
As it says, this option disables invites and reminders. This is useful if all you want to do is show the collection on the specific member’s apps but not bother them with invites or reminders.
When the collection is opened, no invites will be sent out, when members are added to open collections, they won’t be sent invites.
As you’ll see when you get to the Collection Manager view, the collection will not have any reminders and you won’t be able to add any.
Who will be able to join this collection?
Using this option, you can decide whether the collection can be joined by other Karri users, and whether the users have a relationship to your organization. Note that these users are over and above the users you invite when setting up the collection.
If users are able to join the collection, the collection will have a QR code associated with it that users can scan with the Karri App to join and pay for your collection.
When set to Private
, no one is able to join the collection on their own, however, you can still invite members to the collection.
When set to Limited
, only your members, subscribers of your members or your staff can join and pay for the collection using the QR code.
When set to Public
, any Karri user is able to join and pay for your collection.
