Managing Subscribers

For more information about Karri’s use of the word “Subscriber” and what your organization may want to use, see Karri Terminology.

Subscribers View

This is the default landing page for listing and searching for members.

Searching for Subscribers

  1. Type any part of the subscribers, first, last name, email or mobile number

  2. Click and the list will be filtered to those subscribers that match.

Adding Subscribers

You are restricted from adding subscribers directly, you have to link them to an existing member.

  1. Go to the member this subscriber is to be linked to.

  2. Input the subscriber’s email address.

  3. If Karri determines the user is already a Karri User, you will be taken to their profile (summary) page. If they are not found you will be taken to a form where you can input the rest of their details.

  4. Click [Submit] to save the details.

Karri Code: This is the user’s Karri code. It is our unique identifier for this specific person. (Remember, there may be many people with the same name within the system.) It will be allocated on save.

Mobile Numbers: these need to be in international msisdn format:
e.g. +61292294111 +27217975360

Viewing and Editing Subscribers

  1. Click on the subscriber you want to view.
This will give you a view of the subscriber’s details, preferences, and subscriptions.

  2. Click [📝 Edit] to edit the subscriber’s details.

Confused as to why you cannot edit certain fields in some cases?

If the user has an active Karri account, only they can change their own email address and mobile number.

Editing Communication Preferences

Subscribers can adjust their own communication preferences via the app, but in some cases, they may ask the organization to update it.

SMS - We send SMSs to members for their first 3 Karri collections (invites and last payment reminder) IF

  1. They have a valid mobile number.

  2. They aren’t using the Karri app.

  3. They haven’t disabled SMS.

Invitation and Reminder Emails - We send out email invitations to each member in a collection IF

  1. They have a valid email address.

  2. They haven’t disabled invitation emails.

  3. The collection isn’t marked as a Quiet or Merchant collection.

Push Messages - We send these out to each member in a collection IF

  1. They have the app running on their mobile device.

  2. The haven’t disabled push messages on their device or in settings.

Subscribing to a Member

  1. Click on the subscriber you want to add a member to.

  2. Input their Karri code.

  3. Click [+ Subscribe]

  4. The member will be linked.

Note, you will not be able to see the details of any subscription that is not a member of your organization.

Removing Subscribers

You can’t remove a subscriber in the same sense that you remove a user, removing a subscriber just unlinks them from their members. So it is important to understand why so you can perform the correct action.

Subscriber wants to stop receiving notifications

Just update their communication profile.

Subscriber is an emergency contact

Remove the member from their profile by clicking the trashcan next to the members they are subscribed to.

Subscriber does not like Karri, because of security concerns

It is important to ensure users (and potential users) are happy, we like to ensure that people are in possession of all the facts and not acting on misinformation.

Ensure that the subscriber is fully aware that Karri is a platform used by the organization to facilitate and simplify payments, their financial details are protected by the bank and can only be used to effect payments, with their permission, to the Karri gateway and no other business.

  1. Update their communication preferences.

  2. Remove any subscriptions they may have.

This will result in their record becoming dormant and importantly not be re-activated for comms should they ever be linked in again during a new data import or roll-over.

Removing a member from the organization DOES NOT remove them from any active collection

Requires canViewSubscribers and canEditSubscribers permissions.
